The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued show-cause notices to the owners and CEOs of 13 housing schemes accused of unauthorised development, illegal plot booking and marketing, including on social media.
The RDA says the schemes violated the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976 and the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules, 2021. Sponsors have been told to stop all marketing immediately and apply for the required no-objection certificate (NOC) and approvals, or face strict legal action.
The RDA urged citizens not to invest in illegal or unapproved schemes and to verify a project’s legal status before booking a plot.
What this means for you: Always check a society’s NOC and approval status with the RDA (or CDA in Islamabad) before booking. We can help you verify a project.
