Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has approved an amendment to the KP Housing Schemes Regulations 2024 to bring unregistered and illegal housing schemes into the legal framework. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Land Use and Building Control Authority (LUBCA) council.
Authorities will set a cut-off date for unregistered schemes to apply for registration, and schemes that miss it or fail the conditions will face legal action. The council is also considering a central LUBCA system to approve building plans for all development authorities except the Peshawar Development Authority.
The council approved a new enlistment and renewal fee structure and a uniform debris fee in principle.
What this means for you: Buyers in KP should check whether a scheme has registered under the new rules before investing.
